Zoë Andrews, working under the name Zoë Cu, is an artist based in London and Edinburgh that works between drawing and ceramics. Her working name refers to the chemical symbol for copper, Cu, a metal that runs throughout her practice.

Drawing on the structure of ancient Greek pottery, where figure and ground fold into one another and images are held in fracture, she works across ceramics and encaustic painting. Marks shift through firing, breaking and reassembly, with heat and material logic determining what remains.

She studied at the Royal Drawing School and was awarded the 2026 Christie’s Drawing Award.
